On Sunday 22nd March 2026, Arena Karate students returned to Urban Combat to compete in the Spring Showdown.
Once again, the team delivered a strong turnout, with students competing across multiple divisions and continuing to build on their recent competition successes.

Beyond the results, the atmosphere throughout the day stood out. Arena Karate brought strong energy from start to finish, with fantastic support from coaches, students, and parents alike.

On Sunday 1st March 2026, Arena Karate students travelled to Norwich to compete in the Future Champions Series held at Blackbelt Academy.
Following on from the previous event, this competition saw another excellent turnout, with students once again demonstrating commitment and enthusiasm. As this was a combined karate and kickboxing event, Arena Karate proudly teamed up with Arena Kickboxing, further strengthening the team presence on the day.
Across all divisions, the team achieved an impressive 22 medals, reflecting the hard work being put in across both disciplines.

On Sunday 8th February 2026, Arena Karate students competed at the Showdown Series held at Urban Combat, with an excellent turnout across the team.
It was particularly encouraging to see a strong mix of experienced competitors alongside students entering competition for the first time. The event provided a great platform for all participants to test their skills, gain experience, and represent the club with confidence.

On 25th January 2026, a small but determined squad of Arena Karate students competed at the 9th Harlow International Karate Championships.
A huge congratulations to Mal, who came home with a bronze medal in the Male Senior Kumite +84KG β an incredible achievement!
Lacie, Oliver, Elijah, Mabel and Ben also gave it their all. It was a long and challenging day, but our students were focused, disciplined, and a credit to Arena Karate throughout.
Well done to everyone for showing skill, determination, and true sportsmanship on the mat!
On Sunday 18th January 2026, Arena Karate students attended a technical course run by our very own Billy Brennan (9th Dan) at Urban Combat.
These courses are open to all clubs within the English Korean Karate Association, bringing students and instructors together to train, learn, and develop as a wider association.
It was a great way to start the new year, seeing old friends and training partners back on the mats, while also working through high-quality technical instruction from senior instructors.
Students benefited from focused technical development throughout the session, making it a strong and positive start to the year.
Arena Karate β Last Grading of 2025
On 21st December, we held our last grading of the year! Well done to all students for their hard work and achievements.

On 13th and 14th December 2025, Arena Karate was honored to be invited to the Open MAAS UK Seminar, hosted by Shihan Kyle Burks of Bushido Ju-Jitsu.
A huge congratulations to Stefanie Barnes, who was awarded the prestigious title of Renshi β meaning βpolished teacherβ β by Billy Brennan (9th Dan, Grand Master), and presented by Kyle Burks (6th Dan).
The seminar offered a fantastic variety of martial arts, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Ju-Jitsu, Combat Karate, Krav Maga, Kickboxing (taught by our very own Stuart Collier), and Kyujutsu.
Weβd like to say a big thank you for the invitation β it was an incredible opportunity to meet new instructors and fellow martial artists, share knowledge, and enjoy two full days of training. Arena Karate had a fantastic time!
On 12th October 2025, a small but determined squad from Arena Karate competed at the 9th Elite Open International Karate Championships. Our team β Esmee, Lacie-Mae, Oliver, Elijah, Lloyd, and Mal β gave their all on a day full of tough competition.
