CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE ARENA STUDENTS WHO COMPETED TODAY! BETWEEN YOU ALL, YOU BROUGHT HOME 27 MEDAL!
The Arena Competition Squad is made up of dedicated students who regularly represent Arena Karate at competitions throughout the year.
Our squad members train hard both inside and outside of their regular classes, developing their skills in Kata, Kumite and Slam Man events. Through local, regional and national competitions, they gain valuable experience, build confidence, demonstrate resilience and continually strive to improve their performance.
Competition is about far more than winning medals. It teaches discipline, sportsmanship, goal setting, teamwork and the ability to perform under pressure – skills that benefit our athletes both on and off the mats.
As part of the Arena Competition Squad, our athletes are encouraged to challenge themselves, support one another and pursue their personal goals, whether that is entering their first competition or working towards higher-level opportunities within the sport.
The squad brings together students of different ages and experience levels who share a passion for competition and a commitment to representing Arena Karate with pride, respect and determination.
We are incredibly proud of every athlete who wears the Arena badge and look forward to supporting them on their competition journey.

Unlike many mainstream sports, karate athletes in England do not currently benefit from national funding to support competition participation and development. As a result, athletes and their families are often responsible for covering the costs associated with squad training, competition entry fees, travel and accommodation.
At Arena Karate, we believe every athlete should have the opportunity to pursue their competition goals regardless of their personal circumstances. To help support this, we operate a Competition Squad Fund, which is supported through sponsorship, fundraising activities and donations.
Funds raised are used to support the ongoing development of the Arena Competition Squad and help provide opportunities for athletes to access training, competitions and development opportunities throughout the year.
By supporting the Competition Squad Fund, sponsors are investing in the development of all our athletes and helping create opportunities for the next generation of competitors.
